To add a new zone
Obtain the bandwidth limit for the voice media stream for the new zone from your IT administrator.
Assign the Parent Zone ID for the new zone
Indicate whether the parent of the zone contains a device, such as a MiVoice Border Gateway, that anchors the media path.
Indicate if the zone represents a Perimeter Zone delineating the edge of the tree or monitored network.
In the Zone Access Point Assignment sub-form:
Enter Zone Access Point Label.
Enter the Bandwidth Limit.
Enter the Network Element that manages the ZAP.
In the Station Attributes form, assign the sets to the zone. Select the directory number of the set, click Change, set the Zone Assignment Method to Manual and enter the Zone ID of the new zone. Click Save.
In order for a zone to be deleted from the Network Zone Topology/Zone Tree Assignment form, you must first delete the zone access points that are defined between the zone and its parent. You can identify the zone access points that are defined between the zone and its parent from your site zone tree diagram.
To delete an existing zone:

Ensure that sets are not assigned to the zone you are deleting. If any sets are assigned, re-assign them to a new destination zone.
In the Zone Access Point Assignment sub-form, select each Zone Access Point ID and click Clear Member. Click OK. (If there isn't any data associated with the Zone Access Point ID, then this step isn't necessary.)
After you have deleted all the Zone Access Points for the zone, in the Zone Tree Assignment sub-form, select the Zone ID and click Clear. Click OK.
